One of the blogs I read periodically is written by the ever-cool Ricë Freeman-Zachery. Today's treat is a video by 90-year-old Ilona Royce Smithkin. Here is a fascinating woman doing things her way.
This makes me think of those ban the burqa debates I have been watching on YouTube (along with the videos of the atheist hotties). I won't state my opinion on this debate in this post. I do have opinions. They have wavered. They have been been becoming more concrete. This video helps to solidify my beliefs further.
I will strive to become more like her as I age, and believe in the rights of all women to do the same.

ReplyDeleteHey Mad Men Girl,
ReplyDeleteHope you walk into a door instead. Hope you do get on that show and your little part is to walk into a door. And it requires several takes. And it actually gets aired and I get to see it. And I get to record it and watch you walk into that door over and over and over.
If you do wish to visit this blog and leave relevant comments, I'd love to help you out. Otherwise . . .
love her! I find myself getting a bit more free as I age too. It's the only good thing about it, don't you think?
ReplyDeleteI love that advancedstyle site too.
You just put the biggest smile on my face my friend. I just read your comment above to Mad Men Girl and instead of deleting her comment like I would have, you socked it to her....bravo!!
ReplyDeleteI am very impressed when someone stands up for what they believe in and expresses it well like Ilona Royce Smithkin did in this video. A very colourful lady in more ways than one.
Also thanks so much for adding such an interesting comment to my latest post. I agree with alot of what you wrote about free will but I also like to have a open mind that maybe other factors could affect this life here on earth. I am a believer in reincarnation, hence some lessons have to be learnt over and over before we finally can move on to another level.
You asked about any books I would recommend to read....just one at the moment. "Eat,Pray,Love" by Elizabeth Gilbert. I loved the journey she took me on.
Take care
